Introduction

Welcome Oceanographer!

In this new lesson you'll become an ocean expert, you're going to become an Oceanographer (someone is studies oceans). 

You're going to explore from the shores to the floor of the ocean. Within that you're going to learn the marine life, the temperature of the ocean zones, depth of the ocean, the amount of sun light and so much more!

While you explore, think about the following question(s)...

Essential question: 

  • What are some ocean factors that help animals adapt to this habitat? How?

  1. Practice all the activities from Webquest
  2. Complete the worksheet on ocean zones (Available on webquest: Print it from the Process page)
  3. Answer the essential question & Quiz (on Evaluation)

  2. Choose a zone to present (it needs to include: description on zone habitat, temperature, depth, animals, etc.)

August 5th

About the OCEAN

The ocean is the most amazing place that can exist on Earth. The oceans cover around 70% of the Earth's surface, even if it is impossible to explore the entire ocen, you will explore what oceanographers have learned until now. 

To begin exploring (click on the BLUE LINKS), check out some amazing facts about the ocean or to learn more about the oceans of the world.

Welcome!

This is an introduction to my new lesson plan. The topic is Ocean Habitat, and it is disigned for 2nd graders.

The purpose of this lesson introduction is for students to learn the basics about the ocean. Through this activity students will enjoy diffeent learning activities that will teach them a lot abou the ocean habitat. 

Standards: 

2-LS4-1. Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats.

Objectives: 

  • Students will be able to identify the five different ocean zones.
  • Students will be able to label different living things that habit the five different ocean zones. 
  • Students will be able to disscuss different factors about the ocean habitat.
