Introduction

We will be continuing our work on learning the parts of a plant from the book From National Geographic Kids From Seed to Plant by Kristin Baird Rattini

Task

After reading the book, list 6 Facts that you learned about plants.

Process

Task 1

Go to the Harcourt School Website with a partner and look click on all of the plant parts to learn more about them.  Make sure to write down on your worksheet and fill in the parts of the plant.

Task 2

Go to the Harcourt School Publishers website on Non-living functions.  Click on each function to learn more about what helps plants grow.  Make sure to fill out our sheet on what a plant needs to grow!

Task 3

Now it's time to see a plant grow.  Click on thel Website and grow your own plant. Press begin and make sure to water your plant!!  Describe three things you noticed while watering your plant.

Conclusion

Now that we have learned about the process of growing a plant, each student will be growing a small plant in a cup from a seed.  We will spend the next few weeks taking care of our plant and watching it grow!!
