Introduction

Students will learn from reading this book that when we all work together, the results are much more colorful and interesting.  

Task

  1. As a class, we will brainstorm ways that we can all work together to all get along.  I will introduce students to a "get along" poem to use in the classroom.    
  2. Students will listen to the story on the Smartboard from youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5A0AQs3SCI 
  3. After listening to the story, students will work with a partner to create a story on how they can be a good friend.  
  4. Students will use their worksheet and crayons to illustrate their story and present it to the class.

Conclusion

Our "get along" poem will be hung in the classroom to use as a reminder to all the students that we all need to work together, be a good friend, and all get along!
