2. Task

Your grandparents have some requirements for your Christmas gift shopping. The following are the requirements.

  • To create a Christmas gift shopping list
  • To list at least 3 different items
  • To spend all $15, if you can

On the note, your grandparents want you create a shopping list and report to your parents by the end of the week. You will need to keep track of your spending and write down everything you want to purchase as well as the purchase price. If you don’t follow the instructions from the note to create the shopping list, your parents won’t bring you to the stores to purchase the gifts you want. Also, your grandparents mention that if you create the list in Chinese, you will get an extra $5 dollars for your shopping list

Process

3. Process

To fulfill your grandparents' requirements, you will need to create a shopping list by writing down 3 or more items’ names and prices on a piece of paper. Remember, you only have $15 (or $20 for a Chinese shopping list) to spend and you cannot over spend. However, your grandparents ask that you try to spend it all. You need to keep your shopping list organized. Each time you write down an item, you must write down the total you had before, the cost of the item you want to purchase, and the new total of how much money left.

The following is an example of shopping list in both English and Chinese (You don't have to follow the format to create you shopping list):

I have $15.

I want to buy...

toy    $10

notebook $3

cookies $2

I have ----------------------$15toy---------------------------$10How much money left?-----$ 5I have -----------------------$5Notebook--------------------$3How much money left?-----$2I have -----------------------$2cookies-----------------------$2How much money left?------$0

You may use the following websites to look at items you may want. Remember, this shopping list doesn’t count the Tax or the decimal point from the price. For example, if you see the price is $2.99, it will be $2. If you want to create the list in Chinese and you don't know how to write the items' names in Chinese, you can draw the items.  Wal-Mart            Toy's R us             Utah-Idaho Supply
