Introduction
Would you like to live in a Megacity?
Today we are going to discover what it means to live in a megacity and we will discuss about its advantages and disadvantages. You will have to search the Internet to find out more about cities such as Tokyo, Mexico City or Delhi.
Please remember that this is a group task and each member must contribute to the task.
Shall we start?
Task
This task contains 3 parts:
1. Creating a GoogleDocs document to share information with your group.
2. Writing an article for the class magazine.
3. Creating a Power Point presentation (research conclusion and resume, personal opinion about the city).
Process
Firstly you should choose one of the following cities: Tokyo, Jakarta, Shanghai, Seoul, Mexico City, Delhi. Make sure your group email the teacher with your chosen city.
Task 1: Search on the Internet information about your chosen city. Make sure you include these aspects: Location, Population, Transport, Weather conditions, Pollution, Cost of living, General Description (houses types), pros and cons about living there.
You can use the folowing links although you may need to find further information by using your own sources.
Task 2: Write an article (between 250 and 300 words) for our class magazine about your chosen city. You have to work as a group but make sure that the article structure makes sense. Remember to login on our blog and upload the article. You can edit it if need it as long as you do so before the deadline.

Task 3: Now you are an expert. I am sure you can create a power point to tell the class about your city. Make sure you include pictures and links and also your personal opinion about whether you would live in this city or not. Do not create more than 10 slides.

Recopilo poca información o me falta alguno de los aspectos básicos en la descripción. Mi parte asignada en el Google Docs es pobre de contenido. Redacto frases complejas y sencillas y utilizo el vocabulario aprendido y alguno nuevo adquirido en el proceso de búsqueda. Participo en la presentación aportando datos y opinión y realizo preguntas abiertas a la clase para su reflexión. Disfruto del trabajo en equipo y ayudo a mis compañeros. |
Conclusion
Living in a megacity is not for everybody. Now you know what the advantages and disadvantages of living in a megacity are and also you know a lot more about some of the most important cities in the world!
You may want to search a little bit more about something you have just discovered or you feel very interested about it. Don't be afraid! Ask your teacher for further information or talk to your classmates about that. We all want to hearing from you!
