Task

Task:

Congratulations you were just hired to be part of the softball coaching team at a junior high. The head coach put your group in charge of the 7th grade team. All of your players are new to softball and do not know much about the game. They are excited to learn so it is your job to tell the about the game. You are to make a presentation to show your athletes what they are going to be learning from you during the season:

  • Rules-Basic rules of the game
  • Description of field and positions
  • List of skills that the athletes will be learning both offense and defense
    • Each person in the group needs to describe a skill as well as give a proper demonstration.
    • Each member has to choose a different skill (i.e. if one person chooses catching a fly ball then no other person in your group can demonstrate catching a fly ball)

*You will need to record yourselves describing and demonstrating the skill

Rules:

Remember you only need to go into the basic rules. Just a rule of thumb include rules that were   discussed in class and any other you think a beginner player should know. You don’t need to

get crazy detailed with this. If you have any doubts or questions you can ask me. Don’t get scared about the length. I am not asking you to read the whole thing. Skim through and read the BIG BOLD words and find anything you find needs to be included.
