What are seasons and why do seasons occur?

Introduction

Dear scientists!

In this webquest, we will be looking at and examining the four main seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each season lasts for three months. Summer is the season that is the warmest, winter is the coldest season, and spring and autumn lie in between. Seasons are caused because of the Earth's changing direction to the sun. The Earth travels around the sun in an orbit once a year. And as the Earth orbits the sun the amount of sunlight exposure the planet gets every day changes slightly and this change causes the seasons. The seasons also have a lot of impact on the life on Earth. Spring is the season when the animals are born and the plants come back to life. Crops are often harvested at the end of summer. The leaves change colors and fall off the trees in the autumn. Snow occurs in the winter season. The winter season is also cold. Animals like bears hibernate in the winter and animals like the birds migrate to warmer climates.
