The human body: digestion

Hello Year 6 students!

With this webquest we will learn about the digestive system. I remmind you in the science class we are studying the 3 life processes human beings carry out. We have already studied INTERACTION. Now we are going to start studying NUTRITION, starting with the digestive system. The last precess we will study will be REPRODUCTION.

After working on this webquest you will have learnt the parts of the digestive system and how food transforms into nutrients and waste substances. You will also be able to create a project in which you will include all the information learnt. At the end of the unit, you will present those projects and show all of us how much you know about the digestive system.

In pairs, you will have to go through 3 different webpages. Each of them will teach you something new about the human digestive system. Please, make sure you understand all the information before clicking on the next activity. Since you are working in pairs, you can help each other understand the new information.

After you learn everything about the digestive system, you will have to create a paper project with the template you see above. In your project you will have to draw a digestive system with all its parts. You can use any materials you need to decorate the project and make it look more realistic (straws, molding clay, markers, etc.). Finally, you will have to present your project to your classmates.

We are almost done with our unit "the digestive system". Now you all are experts on the topic and you have heard your classmates presenting their projects, it's time to reflect on our own work during the unit.
