Your MISSION is to CONVINCE your readers to VISIT the SPANISHSPEAKING COUNTRY.

You will present it in a MAGAZINE format.

REMEMBER that if your MAGAZINE IS THE BEST ONE, it will be PUBLISHED at the from office, so parents and students can see it and take an exemplar.

Have fun exploring  the Spanish Speaking Countries.  

Extra: Bilingual magazines earn extra credit.

Spanish Speaking Countries Project

You have been assigned 1 of the 20 Spanish Speaking Countries to create a Magazine where your Mission is to convince your readers to visit this country.

Using the internet, magazines, and books, research the following information about your country.

REQUIEREMENTS

      
1. What is the capital of the country?  What is the location of the country? (North America, South America, Centro America, El Caribe, or Europa) 
   □ Insert a map of continent and the country (1st page of the magazine)

      
2. Describe 1 place of interest a tourist should visit in the country that you will be working on. (Cities, beaches, natural places)

      
3. Describe 4 traditional foods from the  place you are talking about. The cost and times for 4 activities to do and description.

4. For each place a tourist should visit, make an itinerary.

  • Use the airplane ticket cost (roundtrip) (you can use Oakland, San Francisco or Los Angeles airport)
  • Hotel cost per a week. If you find promotions online, use them
  •  Use the monetary system form the country you are researching  

5. You need to have at least 4 picture in each section of the magazine. You can use the same picture for your English Section of your magazine if you want extra credit.

YOUR MAGAZINE Should have at least 10 pages.

Paso/step #3:  Each day you will be working in one or two pages of the magazine

  Page   1 = Portada/ Cover: Title (be   creative), name of the country and capital, location, map of the continent   and country and other information relevant to the main idea.

Inside   the magazine
  Be creative in   organizing the information according to the importance of the elements or information

NOTE: If you are doing the   bilingual magazine, the odd numbers are in Spanish and the even numbers in   English. If you have a creative way to do it bilingual, use it.  The   cover also has to be bilingual.

Paso/step #4: Once   you have everything organized, you will be able to create your magazine using   the Microsoft Publisher program.   If you need extra   time, use the computer lab after school or use my office   hours to work on the computers.

Paso/ step #5: Share it with Ms. Cabrera using Google   docs to a quick spelling check.

Paso/ step #6: The day before it is due, print   your magazine and have it ready to give it to Ms. Cabrera.

Now you know that there are 20 countries that Speak Spanish and each of them is unique by all the cultural elements that they own.  It is amazing how much we can learn by exploring in depth a country that was not familiar to us. Now that you have a chance to investigate and learn about the countries that Speak Spanish. Which country will you visit? The one that you did your project on or other that you read from your classmates. Why?
