Aboriginal Heroes

Introduction

Welcome students from Narrabeen Lakes Public School.

This webquest will take you back through time, to Australia's colonial past. Along the way you will discover many interesting facts about Australian history and meet many interesting people.

Many indigenous Australians faced adversity during this time. From this adversity many brave Aboriginal people decided to fight against injustice and seek freedom and safety for their people. This will be the main focus for this webquest- 'Aboriginal Heroes'.

Task

You are a biographer. You and your team have been given the job of creating a biography of an Aboriginal hero from Australia’s colonial past. You may present your biography in a high tech, low tech or no tech format.

You must answer the following questions:

1. What is the name of your Aboriginal Hero?

2. What year were they born and what year did they die?

3. What indigenous language group did they come from?

4. Provide a brief life history.

5. What events led to this person becoming an Aboriginal Hero?

You may work in groups of no more than 3 people.

Good Luck!
