Treasure Hunt of Nouns

A noun is a word that identifies a person, animal, place, thing, or idea.

Abstract nous

- are those referring to ideas, concepts, emotions, and other "things" you can’t physically interact with. You can’t see, taste, touch, smell, or hear something named with an abstract noun.

Collective nouns

- A collective noun is a word that refers to a group. It can be either singular or plural, but is usually used in the singular.

Proper nouns

- Proper nouns have two distinct features: They name specific one-of-a-kind items, and they begin with capital letters, no matter where they occur within a sentence.

Common nouns

- Common nouns are not normally capitalized unless they are used as part of a proper name or are placed at the beginning of a sentence.

Concrete nouns

- Concrete nouns are words used for actual things you can touch, see, taste, feel, and hear

 

Examples:

Abstract noun

in the sentence: I love this rainy weather.

Collective noun

in the sentence: That herd of zombies is very dangerous.

Proper noun

in the sentence: Deadpool is my favorite character of the comics.

Common noun

in the sentence: the dog cross the street without its handler.

Concrete noun

in the sentence: Can I bring my camera?

Activity #1:

Go to the yard of your school and identify the nouns that surrounds you.

Write each noun and compare some of it, with your classmates.

As more you know ,more fun you are gonna have. Enjoy! 

Activity #2:

Take a picture or cut out an image from the newspaper.

Identify the nouns you can see and mark it if is necessary.

Show what you find and share it with your classmates.
