The Cold War was from 1947-1991. The Cold War was a time period in which the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. tried to spread there ways, the U.S.S.R. tried to spread Communism, and the U.S. tried to spread Democracy. There was great tension between the two powers. What caused the Cold War? What are the effects of the Cold War? What are the proxy wars?

You are assigned to do a debate between the Communist Soviet Union and the Democratic U.S.
You are to follow these direction.
1. Research six articles, 3 on the Communist U.S.S.R. and 3 on the Democratic U.S.
2. Evaluate both sides of the argument.
3. Take notes about each side.
4. Write a paper on who you are siding with and why.
