Introduction
The cold war was the longest "war", it lasted about 50 years. Since the war was long there are many attributes to this war. One of the causes of the war was the fear of ideology. The fear of ideology was when the United States(deemocratic) was scaerd that communisum would spread all over the world. The Soviet Union was scared that democracy would spread, so they tried to stop each others ideology from spreading which caused problems. There are many more causes to the start of the war which you will learn later on. Some of the effects of the war were; the economy became better, political stability, Berlin wall torn apart, cost to much money which made the soviet union broke, fights for sides, there are a lot more. The space race was when the U.S.A and the Soviet Union were competing to send satelights into orbit the soviet Union was the first for everything, so we were falling behind untill we managed to send someone to the moon, Soviet Union tried but there rocket crashed, so the U.S.A won the space race. The arms race was when the U.S.A and the Soviet union were competing to see who had the most nuclear weapons, in the end no one really won, the U.S.A and the Soviet Union agreed to stop the arms race which was one of the reasons why the war ended, they also had to destroya certin amount of nuclear weapons from each side. One of the wars fought was the Vietnam war. Vietnam was divided, South democratic, and Norh communist. We wanted to stop communisum from taking over vietnam so we lied to everyone saying that the North attacked us so we can attack them. In the ended many people dided, and we retreated, this was the only war the the U.S.A. was lost all of Vietnam became communist. The Korean war was when the North was democratic and the South was communist. We fought the South to stop communisum, many lives were lost in the ended nobody changed, up to this day the North remains democratic and the South remains communist. There are many different reasons why the war ended but some of the main reasons were; the destruction of the Berlin wall, the end of the arms race, and the Soviet Unions economy failing. This war was really long so there are many more othe effects and causes to this war.
