The Vietnam war began in 1954 and ended in 1975. The opposing political ideologies pushed the North Vietnam to protest against the South of Vietnam, typically known as the Viet Cong. Later on, the ambiguity between the ownership of Indochina by the French caused more dispute. Nevertheless, the United States involved himself to hinder the rapidly spreadping of communism. It was a colonial war that later on became a long lasting war.
