Introduction
The Cold War was a huge war that took a long period of time, it was a war based on ideologies, of democracy and communism. And it was a war between the two countries that had those ideas, the United States and the Soviet Union. it was a war to prove who was the best and to try to spread each ideology to other countries, the United States would try to keep other countries from going communist, while the Soviet Union would strengthen already communist countries. The Cold War was filled with very many struggles, including smaller wars within such as the Korean War, Afghanistan War, And the infamous Vietnam War, there were other struggles such as the space race, when each country was trying to get into outer space before the other could, and the arms race, when each country raced to bulk up their defenses and weapons. After a long while the war came to an end when the Soviet Union fell apart and the Berlin Wall was torn down, it certainly was a most difficult time in humanity. Today we'll be focusing on one topic in particular.. Vietnam.
Essential Questions:
1. How was the Soview Union trying to spread communism? How was the United States trying to spread democracy? What were the two doing to stop eachother.
2. How did the Vietnam war as a whole affect the United States? The Soviet Union? What were our actions?
3. How did the Vietnam War start in the first place? How did it end? who won?

Below is a picture showing the eagle (America) and a bear (the Soviet Union) going head to head, in the sky above them it shows the two space crafts that were involved in the space race.
Task
Tasks:
1. Come up with a debate about the Vietnam War of whether or not we had the right to fight or if we didn't. Directions: 1. Look up as many articles as needed. 2. consider both sides in this debate, the views of the U.S. And the views of Vietnam. 3. Write the debate about Your own opinion and then find someone with the opposite idea and debate with them 4. Make sure to also Inform the audience about some of the background of the Cold War before Vietnam
Process
1.Read at least 5 sources with information for your debate (60 minutes)
2. start to write and brainstorm ideas for the debate (20 minutes)
3. Begin writing debate outline ,make sure to give background before Vietnam and make sure to examine both sides of the argument, and see what you agree with (40 minutes)
4. finalize everything (30 minutes)

5: Create a well in depth debate about the Vietnam war and whether or not we were justified to fight or not, talk about both sides of the argument include background of the Cold War before Vietnam, use at least 4 resources and include 1 picture, and answer the essential questions
