OkThis is the space race. One major event during the Cold War where the US and USSR were fighting to get to the moon first. 

Task

Task: Write an essay, one page minimum, on whether the US should be in the Cold War.

How did the US government and the US people react to the Cold War?

Process

1. Have notes that mold around the three essential questions. These notes should help you with your supporting details.

2. These three articles should answer the essential questions. Each essential question should be answered thoroughly.

3 and 4. These two steps should be the answers from the second essential question. Make sure to go deep into thought and use text evidence!

5. You must include text evidence to back up your answers. Make sure to give it for the articles you chose.

6 And 7. Make sure you explain how the war began. You should also explain how the war ended and give events that led up to the ending.(example. Space race ex.). Explain the causes, effects, space race, arms race, korean war, vietnam war, and the ending of the cold war.

8. Make sure to annotate where you got your information. 

Evaluation

1point= No notes, 1 article given but not explained great, no text evidence, none of their own reasoning, none of the US peoples reasoning and governments reasoning, did not explain how the cold war began and the events leading to the end of the cold war, and did not answer essential questions. 

2 points= Half page of notes, 1 article given and explained thoroughly, gave very little text evidence, gave very little of their own reasoning, gave very little reasoning on both ends, explained the beginning of the cold war but that's it, and answered just one essential question.

3 points= Half page of notes, 2 articles given and did not explain them that great, gave text evidence for only two articles, gave some of their own reasoning but no explanation on their reason, gave reasoning for only the peoples reasoning or the governments reasoning, explaned the beginning of the war and the end but not the events leading up to the end of the war, and answered two essential questions

4 points= Full page of notes, 2 articles given and explained thoroughly, gave text evidence for every article but was very weak for each one, gave their own reasoning but did not explain much, gave reasoning for the peoples reasoning and the governments reasoning but did not explain enough, explained the beginning of the Cold war, middle, and end but knowledge was not accurate, and answered all three essential questions but were not answered thoroughly.

5 points= Full page of notes, all articles given and explained thoroughly, gave text evidence for every article, gave good reasoning of their own, gave good reasoning on the governments reasoning and the peoples rasoning, expalned the beginning, mddle, and end of the war thoroughly, and answered all three essential questions.
