Introduction
After noticing that the students in my class do not eat healthy and more and more students are becoming overweight and obese, I have come to the conclusion that they do not know what foods are healthy and what foods are not healthy. It is important to know what foods are healthy and what foods are not healthy. You are only given one life so you must take care of it for you to live a long, happy, and healthy life. The following pages will help you learn how to make good choices about eating to help you stay healthy.

Task
This WebQuest begins with you learning wise choices about what to put on your plate by using MyPlate. There will be videos that will help you along with this process. There will be some links to follow that will show you why certain foods are good for you. Finally, you will learn the importance of nutrients and healthy food.

Process
The Process
To show your understanding about what is healthy you will be asked to complete a project. There are two different projects to chose from. Follow these steps in picking a project:
1. Look at both of the options that are provided and read to see what project fits you best.
2. Tell your teacher what project you plan to do.
3. You will get the materials for that project.
4. You will be given time in class to work on your project. You will be given three days to finish your project.
Projects
Project 1:
Make a healthy recipe from one of the sites below or from one of your own sites or recipes.
Bring in a small sample for the class to try or have your family try it at home and write down their opinions.
You will present your recipe or the opinions from home to the class.
Project 2:
On a poster board draw a plate with sections like those you learned from MyPlate.org. Draw pictures of food to show the proper portions of each type of food you should have at each meal.
Label each section and write down why you chose the foods you chose and what makes these foods healthy choices?
You will present your poster to the class.
