2. You will also come up with conflict resolution and prevention methods for your form of bullying.

3. Also, research different resources that are available to those who see this happening or those who are victims and present these to their classmates as well.

4. Finally, you will create a brochure, including all of the information above to present to your classmates.

5. Throughout your presentation you can come up with ways to demonstrate your prevention methods through skits, youtube videos or pictures.

6. After everyone has presented you will be asked to fill out a quick questionnaire to make sure each topic was thoroughly covered.

Process

Before starting the project you must break up into 6 small groups, start off in the front of the classroom and count off 1-6 until everyone has a number. Now get together in groups by number! This is the form of bullying you will be researching:

1. Physical bullying

2. Verbal Bullying

3. Relational aggression

4. Cyberbullying

5. Sexual bullying

6. Prejudicial bullying

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step One: You must come up with your own definition of one of the 6 forms of bullying and answer the question; why does it happen.
This is your chance to really understand the form of bullying that you are researching. Make sure you read over all the information provided so that you can help share this information with your classmates once you are finished. The goal is to spread awareness and try to help prevent bullying from happening among your classmates.
A) Select 2-3 resources to help you come up with your own definition of bullying.
Think About: Is the information you are reading something you already knew? Does this information help you or will it help others understand more about the form of bullying you are researching?
B) Build a Mind Map using this tool to brainstorm reasons that your group believes your form of bullying happens.
Use the links provided along with the videos to help you come up with your reasons.
Step Two: Come up with conflict resolution and prevention methods for your form of bullying.
Now that you understand what your form of bullying is and have come up with reasons that you believe it happens this is your chance to try to help prevent and resolve bullying. You want to discuss with your group members and brainstorm what you think are the best ways to help prevent your form of bullying and how you would resolve conflicts when your assigned form of bullying does take place.
A) Continue to build on your Mind Map
For each reason you came up with as to why your form of bullying happens come up with one conflict resolution method and one prevention method.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Step Three: Look over the resources provided and think about who can help and who you would reach out to if you see this happening or are a victim yourself.

You want to make sure you are well informed so that you can share this information with classmates and help spread awareness! We want to make sure no one feels alone and that everyone knows they always have people they can reach out to if they need to.

A) Who can you reach out to if you are a victim of bullying? (include 2 examples in presentation)

There is no wrong answer to this- you want to make sure you are thinking about who can help and who you feel comfortable talking to.

B) What type of help is out there to people who have been bullied? (include 1 example in presentation)

What advice would you give a friend who is a victim of bullying? Who would you tell them to talk to?

C) What should you do if you see someone being bullied? (include 2 examples in presentation)

Think about what you can do for people that you see fall victim to bullying- how would you help them and who would you reach out to? Would you report it?

Step Four: Create a brochure, including all of the information above to present to your classmates.

This is your chance to help spread awareness and share all of the information and knowledge you have developed on your form of bullying. Remember- we want to spread awareness to help in prevention of bullying so take this chance to inform your classmates!

A) Come up with a slogan for your brochure- something that you feel will identify the form of bullying you have been researching throughout this lesson.

B) Look over your Mind Map and make sure that everything is written in a way that your classmates will understand.

Using your Mind Map- take all of the ideas you have come up with and create a brochure (you can either directly copy the Mind Map you have created into your brochure or take the information and organize it in a different way throughout your brochure)

C) Within the brochure be sure to include the advice you have for those who are victims of bullying or those who see it happening. Let them know who they can reach out to and that they are not alone!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step Five: Come up with ways to demonstrate prevention methods.
Think about how you can demonstrate the prevention and conflict management methods you came up with earlier to classmates. Violence is not the answer and you are not to hurt each other throughout your demonstrations. Think of this as a chance to show your classmates alternate ways to resolve conflicts other than bullying.
A) This can be accomplished through skits, youtube videos or pictures.
(DO NOT ACT OUT VIOLENCE) The purpose of this lesson is to prevent bullying and help spread awareness, make sure you are not doing or saying anything harmful throughout your presentation.
