Introduction

Dear friends,
Welcome to this webquest.
Today, you have a unique chance to meet and interview a great historical personality of your choice.
Get in pairs, sit back and get ready to travel in time!
First, watch this short video to get some inspiration.

After completing this webquest, you should be able to:
1. Name the personality of your choice and introduce at least three facts about his/her life.
2. Explain the role of this person in world history.
3. Describe the prop of your choice.
4. Play your role in the Living History Interview.
5. Evaluate your own work.
Process

9 STEPS TO SUCCESS
Work in pairs and follow these nine steps. Your work will be evaluated according to the criteria specified in "Evaluation". You have 40 minutes to complete the webquest and prepare your final presentation, so do not waste your time :-)
Step 1: Choose a person you would like to meet. It can be someone who appeared in the previous video or any other historical personality.
Step 2: Print/copy the following table. Fill it in as you accomplish the steps. Nobody will see or evaluate your table, it is for your use only.
| personality name: | |
| fact 1: | |
| fact 2: | |
| fact 3: | |
| fact 4: | |
| fact 5: | |
| role/importance in history: | |

| question 2: | |
| question 3: | |
| question 4: | |
| question 5: | |

Step 3: Find five interesting/key facts about this person using the following links:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/historic_figures/a.shtml - personalities are sorted according to their initials here
http://www.biographyonline.net/people/famous/historical-figures.html - personalities are sorted according to time periods
If you still have not found the person of your choice, look elsewhere.
Step 4: How was this person important in human history? What role did he/she play? Why did you choose to interview this person? Summarize in one sentence.
Step 5: In Step 6, you´ll look for a prop. To find out the meaning of "prop", go here and read the first two sentences:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theatrical_property
Step 6 = PROP treasure hunt: To introduce your personality, you will need to get (find or make) a prop that was typical or somehow significant for this person. Be creative. You can make the prop, look for something suitable, borrow an object, etc. You may leave this room for max 5 minutes, but you must not leave the school building or enter classrooms where others are learning. Put your prop in the box at the teacher´s desk. You will use your prop in the next lesson.
Step 7: Now it is time to prepare your interview. One of you is a journalist, the other represents the historical figure. Prepare five questions and also plan the answers you would probably get from this person. Rehearse the interview twice.
If you can´t think of any questions to ask, here are two links with some inspiration:

Step 8: You will present your work verbally during our next lesson: both of you will speak, introduce your findings, do your role-play interview. If you wish, you may prepare any other materials to accompany your presentation. Plan your presentation in detail now: prepare the final 3-5 minute show where you´ll present all your materials and findigs.
Step 9: The final step is self-evaluation. In your pair, briefly discuss the following questions:
What have you learnt today?
What did you enjoy most?
Did you cooperate well in your team?
Please, include self-evaluation in your presentation as well.
