Exploring Animals and Habitats!

Introduction

Throughout this webquest, you will explore and learn more about what a habitat is and you will identify diferent types of habitats and their characteristics. You will recognize different animals and plants that live in these specific habitats. You will be able to make your own poster explaining and sharing information about the different habitats you have been exploring. After fnishing your poster presentation, you will be able to choose an animal or plant from one of the habitats that you want to write about. I can't wait for you to learn about all of these interesting places and habitats all over the world!

Task

In this webquest, you will research using articles, books, videos, and online websites to help you complete these assignments.

Part 1: Choosing and Researching Your Habitat

1. You will decide which habitat to study. You can choose from: a desert, a forest, the arctic, or the ocean.

2. You will need to do research to learn interesting facts about that habitat.

3. You will make a poster to show what that habitat looks like. Your poster should include the interesting facts you learned about that habitat.

Part 2: Researching a Plant and an Animal from your Habitat

1. You will pick one plant and one animal that lives in the habitat you researched.

2. You will research 3 interesting facts about how this plant lives and survives in their habitat. Include a picture of this plant on your poster.

Part 3: Writing About Your Habitat

1. For your final product, you will write a short summary using pictures and words to write about the plant or animal that you researched.

2. Your writing should include all of the interesting facts that you learned when doing your research.

Part 4: Sharing You Work

1. At the end of this webquest, you will have a chance to share your poster with the class and see everyone else's posters as well! We will hang everyone's posters around our classroom and have the chance to walk around our room looking at everyone's hard work!

    • This website is by Kids Planet. It offers a huge list of animals to research and a list of habitats.
