Conclusion

After finishing this assignment, the student should now understand the basic ways to prevent common sport injuries. They will also be able to understand the injuries most commonly found in certain sports.

For example, a student may see an NBA player go up for a layup, but land badly and role an ankle. They should be able to recognize that the player with the rolled ankle could have done more ligament stretches or movements/workouts to strengthen the muscles around the joint. In the momet, the player could have been more aware of his body and had better control in the action. After the injury, the player must stretch, ice, and elevate the joint; as well as work on technique to avoid it from happening again.
