Senior Trip Proposal

Introduction

Several years ago, the school board did away with senior trips.  This year's seniors have money in their account and want the school board to change their mind about senior trips.

Task

Your task will be to research the benefits of taking a senior trip.  Convince the school board that it will be safe.  Tell where you want to go, how long you plan to be gone and how much it will cost.

Process

There will be five tasks.  The class will be divided up into groups and each group will be assigned a task.  For tasks 2 3 and 4 websites suck as:  www.expedia.com, www.priceline.com and www.travelocity.com.

Task 1:  Research the benefits of taking a senior trip and put it in report form on a google app so that others can add to it.  You may put in your opinions to persuade the school board.  The report must have at least five benefits.

Task 2:  Decide on the destination of your trip by narrowing it down to 3 destinations and having classmates respond to a survey to determine the favorite place.  Then determine whether to take a bus or plane and research the cost of each and make a cost-comparison chart.

Use the following website to do your survey.  https://www.surveymonkey.com/

Task 3:  After deciding the destination, research the cost of a hotel.

Task 4:  Determine what the class wants to do at the destination and find the cost of those plances.  Also, estimate how much each person is going to have to bring on his/her own if there is not excess money to cover the cost of meals and spending money.

Task 5:  Compile the information in the research and create a powerpoint with all the information that you have researched and present it at the board meeting.  After determining how much money still needs to be raised, if any,  create a handout for both the board members and each class member showing an itinerary for the trip and how much each person is responsible for.
