Introduction
We want to find out how the eye works. We can all see with our eyes but we don't really understand why we can see what we see.
Task
For this webquest we will investigate how the eye works and find out why some people go blind.
Process
Ciliary Muscles: This muscle works when you try to focus something from far and close. Also the ciliary muscles in the eye is a ring of a smooth muscles.
Sclera: This muscle is know as the white of the eye. Its is the protective layer of the eye containing collagen and elastic fiber.
Lens: This muscle works by the cornea and the lens to help focus the light onto the back of retina. The eye works just as good as a camera.
Choroid: This muscle is the vascular layer of the eye containing lots of tissue. The choroid is lying next to the retina and the sclera. Also the choroid produces oxygen.
Retina: This muscle is a really thin layer that lays in the back of the eye on the inside of the eye. The retina is located near the optic nerve, and the purpose of the retina is so that it can receive light and focus the lens.
2.
- An eye disease is Age-related Macular Degeneration: How this disease can affect your eyes is because it leads to cause blindness.
-
Another disease is called Retinal disease: How this disease can affect your eyes is by affecting your vital tissues which is a layer of tissue in the back of your eye that senses light and sends images to your brain. This can also cause blindness.
3. The strange squiggly lines you see in your eyes are called floaters. Floaters are little “cobwebs” that are little spots that float your vision. They are small, dark that can look like squiggly lines.
