Point & Non-Point Source Pollution

Introduction

Hello! Welcome to Shelby Creviston's WebQuest!

My job is to explain to you what point and non-point source pollution is! So, let us continue on with our journey for knowledge!

Task

So like I said before, the task is to find differences in point and non-point source solution. So where to look? Well, we know (or should know) what pollution is. But in case you don't know, the definition is the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or thing that has harmful or poisonous effects. Now we should be able to tell point & non-point source pollution apart.

Process

Ok. Let's get started.

So we know what pollution is. Let's start to break down point source pollution. A point is one single thing, such as a dot. So if you say that point source pollution could be ONE source pollution (pollution from one source)... YOU WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!!!

Now how about that non-point source pollution? We could say it is safe to assume that it is pollution from more that one source... but it can also mean that it is coming from unidentified pollution sources, or UPS (not the parcel service) for short.

Evaluation

Well now that we know what point & non-point source pollution is, we can know just how damaging the effects of both, point & non-point source pollution, can be when it comes to things like:

 Environment Degradation

 Human Health

Global Warming

Ozone Layer Depletion

Pollution not only affect humans by destroying their respiratory, cardiovascular and neurological systems; it also affects the nature, plants, fruits, vegetables, rivers, ponds, forests, animals, etc, on which they are highly dependent for survival. It is crucial to control pollution as nature, wildlife and human life are precious gifts to the mankind. It is very sad.Yes, Pikachu. It is a concern. But please don't cry. You could change that. Besides shooting down alien polluters, you can find new innovative ways to make America clean.

Conclusion

So my little quest has come to an end.

*Cries*

BUT YOU DON'T NEED ME FOR KNOWLEDGE ANYMORE! You now know how to get knowledge. So goodbye and enjoy your new knowledge of pollution.
