Introduction

Cesar Lopez and his family are moving from Texas to California. He wants to live in a safe neighborhood that is affordable with similar accommodations of his previous Texas neighborhood.  Help Cesar and his family get adjusted to their new life in California by finding him the "perfect neighborhood"

Task

You and a partner will be assigned a location in Los Angeles where Cesar works.  He wants to live no more than 15 miles from his job.  He takes home $3500 dollars monthly and has a wife and two children who are in elementary school.  His wife does not work. Other constant bills that should be considered are

Car Note: $400

Credit cards: $300

Student loans:$350

Car Insurance: $130

Process

Step 1: Locate a neighborhood that is within the 15 miles of Cesar's Job

Step 2: Find an appropriate apartment or house for Cesar and his family to live in.

Step 3: Research facts about the area you want Cesar to live including but not limited to crime, education level, median income, rent cost, schools api scores, unemployment, and poverty rate.

Your presentation must include the following information:

  1. Introduction- The profile of your neighborhood/city. Include an overview of the 
  2. Thesis- 3 reasons why you chose the neighborhood for Cesar to live in
  3. Body- Explain in details for each reason you chose for the neighborhood for Cesar to live
  4. Include the chances of Cesar or his family getting into danger in their neighborhood.  example 1 in 10,000 chance of having his car stolen. or 1 in 223,000 chance of being murdered etc.
  5. Include a budget for Cesar based on his income and debts.
  6. Conclusion- What did you learn about researching neighborhoods in this project?  Does this assignment help you think about which neighborhood you would like to live in the future? How so?  What could have made you choose a better place for Cesar?
