Black History Month

Welcome to Mrs. Simpson's Webquest

As you know this is Black History Month. Last week we learning that Carter G. Woodson started Black History week in 1926 and it was President Gerald Ford that started  Black History Month was  in 1976. February honors the achievements of African Americans in American history.  African Americans have played an important role in the history of our country. 

    Mrs. Simpson has a task for you - She needs your help gathering and presenting information about these famous people.  In order to learn more about famous African Americans, you will be researching a famous African American.  You will record all of your information on an organizer template. Next week you will be able to present your new findings to your class about the famous African American you researched.  

Welcome my 6 - 9 level students

I would like for each of you to travel back in historyand gather as much information as possible on our African American History. 

 Your job today will be to click the select person assigned to you. Then you will have to click the link below to provide informaiton about your famous African American person. I am thrilled to be about to give you this opprotunity to reasearch a famous perosn. 

Please do the following:

1. write your name, date, roon number and the famous person's name on the reasearch paper

2.  find a picture of your person

3. Record their birth date and place of birth or where they were raised.

4. Answer the next questions on your form

5. Finally give some Interesting Facts about your person.

6.  When you have completed your paper. Please illustrate what they are know for.
