Introduction
Black history is a very important piece of history that is often forgotten in most school system, and thus ever fewer schools bring it up. In honour of it being February (Black History Month), this assignment is designed to give a quick glimpse of the very rich and full history. This assignment also aims at spark interest in this particular piece of history.
Task
Choose an influencial figure in from African-American history that is not very well known and present the information in either a presentation or essay.
Do not Choose any of the following:
Martin Luther King Jr.
Rosa Parks
Malcom X
Muhammed Ali
Michael Jordan
Harriet Tubman
Process
Find a creative way to present the information you find about the person you choose, whether it be powerpoint, video, or website.
- Highlight that person's major achievements
- include other interesting facts about the person's life
- Explain why you feel this person is influential
or
Write a 3 page essay including the same criteria as above.
Evaluation
You will be graded based on the uniquness of your person, the information presented, and validity of you reason for this person's place in history.
