Exploring Our Solar System By: Lauren B. And Taylor T.

Introduction

Our Solar System. Stars, the sun, planets, moons, comets, astroids, the kuiper belt, the astroid belt, meteors, and dwarf planets! Our Solar system consists of eight planets (not including dwarf planets). Four of the planets are called the inner planets, (the four closest to the sun) and the other four are the outer planets (the four farthest from the sun). They are seperated by the astroid belt. The kuiper belt is outside the outer planets, and inside it is big chunks of ice, the dwarf planets, and more! Scientist have found a lot of information about our Solar System.

Task

Help! My name is DeLeilee McNaxton. I am a NASA scientist. We have lost all of our basic information about our solar system. We need YOUR help to get our information back! Get with a partner and your sure to find all the information. Good Luck!

Process

You and your partner will need to research basic information about our solar system. Make sure you include this information:

  • What is the average temperature of each planet and the sun?
  • What is the core of all of the planets?
  • What are the order of the planets?
  • What are some facts that you think are important about the solar system?
  • How many moons does each planet have (if any)?
  • What is the kuipper and asteroid belt made of?
  • What is the atmosphere of each planet?
  • What is each planet made of?

After you and your partner have found all the information above, write a paragraph about the information you have found, and draw a labeled diagram of our solar system.

  • 0 points: the paragraph is not complet, or about your topic

  • Total points available: 25

Conclusion

Thank you for all your help! You have made us proud! You are a true scientist. That would have been a catastrophe without your help.
