Comparing and Contrasting

Introduction

For this assignment, you are a news reporter. You have been asked to report a story on two dogs named Beau and Zoe. In your report, you have to give your opinion on which dog is smarter. In order to make your decision, you need to research these two dogs and find out how they are alike and how they are different. This information will help you decide which dog is the best.

Task

Task 1:

Your first step as a news reporter is to do your research. Under the PROCESS tab you will find the links to the articles on the two dogs. Read these articles, paying attention to how the dogs are alike and how they are different.

Task 2:

Once you have done your research, your next step is to analyze your findings. To do this, you will create a Venn Diagram to oraganize what you know. Remember to make a Venn Diagram, you draw two circles that overlap. In the circles you will write how the dogs are different (contrasting), and in the overlapping section of the circles, you will write how the dogs are the same (comparing). You need to include at least three things that are alike and three things that are different.

Task 3:

After you have organized your reserach into a Venn Diagram, you need to decide which dog you think is the smartest. You will write a paragraph of at least three sentences that tells which dog you think is best and why. Be sure to include the facts from your Venn Diagram that prove why the dog you picked is the smartest.
