Introduction
Your P.E. teacher, Ms. Schneid, has just informed your class that her sister Kasi is coming to visit her in two weeks. Her sister is a soccer player for the local professional team. Ms. Schneid wants to teach her P.E. clas some of the basic soccer skills necessary to play soccer so that you and your class can show off your skills to her sister when she comes to town. Ms. Schneid plans to have your P.E. class play some fun games with her sister that will show your newly acquired skills that you will gain over the next 2 weeks.
Task
By the end of the next two weeks, your P.E. class will be able to demonstrate your newly acquired skills for Ms. Schneid's sister when she comes to town. You should be able to recognize each basic skill and understand techniques necessary for each skill to be performed.
Process
The links below will help you learn how to dribble, pass, trap the ball, shoot and juggle a soccer ball. We will be going over these skills in P.E. class, but I would like you to view these at home and work on these skills on your own as well.
1. In order to play soccer, dribbling is one of the most important skills necessary. Below is a link to a video that shows how to properly control a soccer ball and dribble correctly. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zUMFr-WZwE 2. Once you have learned how to dribble and control a soccer ball, you will need to pass the ball to your teammates and friends so that they can play soccer with you. -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrBPnAdzIps&feature=relmfu3. Once you and your friends learn how to pass a soccer ball, you now need to learn how to receive that pass from your friend. -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDXqDg4k9gQ4. Once you and your friends have learned some of the basic skills of soccer, you will be ready to try and shoot a soccer ball at a goal! This video will show you how to properly shoot a soccer ball. -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFc9HA0XHvY5. Now that you have learned some of the basic skills of soccer, you will get to try and juggle a soccer ball. Juggling a soccer ball can be very challenging at first but is a very fun skill once it is learned! -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWYeD_hz0fc
