Compare and Contrast Presidents

Introduction

Cadets will be able to tell the three Presidents that are from Illinois or Indiana. Cadets will give a written compare and contrast list and paragraph of the good and bad.

 Can you tell me who these Presidents are?

Task

You will learn about three different Presidents. You will learn where they are from and what made them great or not so great. 

1. Your first task is to figure out which of the 44 President is from Indiana and Illinois.

2. Second, find one good thing and one bad thing about each President.

3. Finally, choose a creative way to share what you have learned.

List of the Presidents  Student did not look for the correct Presidents. Student found one out of the three Presidents. Student found two out of the three Presidents. Student found the three Presidents.
Comparing the sources given Student was not able to compare the sources. Student had one sentence about the different sources they used. Student had a short paragraph on the differences. Student had a long explanation of why the sources were different.
Grammar and mechanics  Student had many errors in their story. Student had four to five errors in their story. Student had one to three errors in their story. Student did not have any errors in their story.
Organization Student did not have any organization at all. Student started their story off well, but struggled to maintain organization. Student had a struggle, but it was easy to follow. Student is able to meet the teacher's standards.

Conclusion

Cadets will write a short story about each president that they learned about. Cadets will continue this process until all three Presidents are written about.
