Introduction
INTRODUCTION
This webquest will review the important concepts associated with copyright, fair use, intellectual property, and personal rights violations as it relates to the field of education. In completion of this course, the laws involving copyrights and fair use were evaluated in detail. Any creative work is copyrighted by the creator without obtaining a license, however, there are no copyrights to ideas that have not been physically manifested. When using others' creative works, such as writings and images, it is imperative that authors are given the proper credits to protect students, instructors, and universities from copyright infringement, this goes for material provided by an instructor to their students, such as class syllabuses and class notes. There are other exceptions to copyrights which may include: works within a public domain. This plays a large part in derivative works. When creating a derivative work, proper permission must be obtained from the creator of the original work or the work must be a part of a public domain. Information and resources as it relates to derivative works will be provided for review in this webquest. This webquest will also provide valuable resources in review of copyrights, fair use of material, and personal rights violations as it reates to the field of education.
