First Grade Shark WebQuest

Introduction

     

 

 

 

     

 

     Welcome! In this webquest you are going to do a ton of research on sharks! You will learn a ton of new information about them from how big/small they are to several different types of sharks! With your research you will then be able to choose a new type of shark for the new shark exhibit at Shark World.

Task

Task 1

1. Get out a sheet of paper. This sheet of paper is our shark fact sheet!

2. Visit these two cites and collect facts that are interesting to you and put them on your fact sheet.

Task 2

1. Review this chart and the different sizes of the sharks.

2. Take out a second piece of paper and put each shark into order of size, smallest to largest.

 Task 3

1. With a white piece of paper we are going to create a shark tooth.

2. Choose a shark from the chart and create a tooth you thibk fits with that shark. Will it be big, will it be small, will it be sharp?

3. On the back put your name with the name of the shark you chose.

 

Task 4

1. Visit this website and learn the parts (anatomy) of a basic shark. Take notes!

2. With your assigned groups work togetehr to label the picture of the shark given to you by your teacher.

Task 5

1. With the knowledge you gained in your research it is now time for you to choose what shark will be put into the new exhibit at Shark World!

2. Create a poster however you want showing the new exhibit and the name of the new species of sharks!

Teacher will choose how his/her class will be graded.

Well shark experts you have created a new exhibit at Shark world and it is time for you to go out and show the world! Let everyone know your new facts you have acquired from the research you conducted! Educate people and make the shark world more known!
