Introduction
In this part of the project, students should examine websites to find several different holiday traditions from different cultures other than their own. As part of the final project, students will create a report with a poster or brochure to present their favorite traditions they have found on WebQuest to the class.
Introduction
Feliz Navidad! Happy Hanukkah!
Kwanza Greetings
Do you enjoy the holidays?
What, specifically, do you like about them? (besides getting presents, of course!)

Do you like decorating your tree? Helping your family with Christmas dinner?
What are some of the traditions your family enjoys and what do you especially like about them? Are some of your celebrations different from your friends or neighbors?
You will want to compare these to the ones you find out about on WebQuest.
Task
Your task is to search for websites on the Internet to learn more about other holiday traditions.
You must include some of the aspects of the celebrations of Hanukkah, Kwanza and Christmas in other countries.
You will write a report or brochure explaining which tradition you found most interesting and why.

The last step will be to present one or two of the traditions you found most interesting to the class. To do this, you will create a visual product to share. You might make a poster, to showcase the traditions you selected.
Process

Here are some websites that describe different holiday traditions including Christmas in other countries, Kwanza and Hanukkah and also for the hearing impaired:

http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/holidays/hanukkah/

After you have visited these websites and explored them, you should ask yourself how much you knew about these other holiday celebrations before.
You should describe in your report and presentation how some of the activities in these celebrations are different or similar to holiday activities in your family. In particular, what are the roles of children in these celebrations?
You should compare these celebrations and describe activities that are similar and different between them.
Your report or presentation should also include some pictures showing things typical of the different celebrations.

Conclusion
Congratulations on having completed the WebQuest on holiday celebrations!

After this WebQuest, you should be able to understand that there are many interesting holiday traditions besides Christmas in other countries and cultures.
When you celebrate the holidays with your family, you should now be able to appreciate your own traditions even more.
As part of your celebrations, you could share some the things you have learned with your family and how they relate to your own family's traditions.
Credits
For the creation of my WebQuest, I used the website:
https://www.createwebquest.com/
I also used a number of clip art sites to obtain the images I have used in my WebQuest.
I also looked at examples of different WebQuests. In particular, I found the web site Education World to be very helpful.

Another site that proved to be very useful:
Teacher Page
I found CreateWebQuest to be very helpful and would recommend its use to others for creating a WebQuest.
Add images such as clip art has never been easier.
However, a good piece of advice for adding images is that picking preview to get a full size image will make the image appear medium or large in size. Otherwise, the image is inserted as a thumbnail size which is too small when presented in the Webquest.
