Introduction

What are your rights as a citizen of the United States of America? Do you know how many types of government we have?
As a citizen of the United States of America, it is important to know your rights and responsibilities. Citizenship is the common thread that connects all Americans. We are a nation bound not by race or religion, but by the shared values of freedom, liberty, and equality. However, rights and responsibilites are two different things. We have certain rights that are listed in the U.S. Constitution under the Bill of Rights. There are many different responsibilities that citizens should exercise and respect. Being an informed citizen about our government and community is an important responsibility. Voting in elections is just one responsibility of all good citizens. Did you know we are under three governments, not just one? Our governments also posses responsibilities. These governments are local, state, and federal. You will go on a quest to discover your rights and responsibilities as a U.S. citizen and learn about the three types of government. Click on "Task" to begin your quest.
