Introduction
ATTENTION 5TH GRADERS!
You have been working so hard on your math skills that I've decided to reward you with lunch at a local restaurant! But wait, there is a catch! You and your group will have to eat on a limited budget, figure out the total bill, determine tax and tip, divide the check between the group, and make the correct change. I sure hope you have the MATH MUNCHIES!
Task
For ths webquest you will be divided into groups of four. Each group will be assigned a restaurant and given a budget. In order to receive your lunch you must order within your budget, figure out sales tax, determine correct tip, divide the bill equally betwen members of group, and make correct change. Your group will need to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills.

Process
Each group will be assigned a restaurant to visit but first you must decide who will feel each of the following roles:
Restaurant Recorder:
The restaurant recorder is in charge of filling in the order ticket with food choices and prices of each group member. Each member must order a drink and a meal; the group must also order one appetizer to share. Your group will work together to add up the total price of the meals and the recorder will record it on the ticket.
Thrifty Tipper:
The thrifty tipper is in charge of figuring out how much to tip you waitress. You will work with your group to take the total price of your meal, plus tax,and multiply it by 10%, 15%, and 20%. Your team will record each tip on the Tip Calculation Sheet and then decide how mush tip you are willing to leave.
Tasty Taxer:
The tasty taxer is in charge of figuring how much tax will be added to your groups food bill. You will need to use the sales tax finder website to determine the sale tax for your state, and multiply it by your total food bill. The tax must be recorded on the groups Order Ticket, and then you will find the total of your groups meal.
Example: Food bill= $58.00 Tax= 7%
Tax %x Food Bill .07 x 58 = $4.06 of tax
Delicious Divider:
This person is responsible for helping the group divide the total cost of the meal and the tip equally among the group. You will record the dollar amount on the Order Ticket Sheet.
Charming Change Maker:
This member of the group will be in charge of helping each group member determine the change they should receive from the waitress when they pay their bill. You will record how much each members gives the waitress, and how much change they should expect.
Directions:
1. Each member of the team will be given $20.00 to spend on their lunch.
