Comparing Diversity!

Introduction

Hello, and welcome to Kenya,Africa! Throughout this webquest, you will be on a pretend journey to Africa, where you will research many interesting facts about our culture here in Kenya.

After doing your research and exploring various parts of our country, you will go back home to the United States and report to your classmates about how different it is here, compared to your small hometown, and even compared to the entire United States. Be sure to put on your thinking caps, and also be very adventerous as travel throughout this country. Focus on the diversity here in Africa and compare it to what you are used to back home in the United States.

To all of you travelers, have fun and be sureto learn a lot while you are here in Kenya!

Task

Your task is to research Kenya. You should gather information on what life is like here, the people, the land, and our traditions and customs here in Kenya. As you research, be sure to compare your findings with your culture and your counrty. By the time you are finished, you should be able to tell me what things are alike, and what things are different between Kenya and the United States.

Process

To Begin, as you are "traveling" through Kenya, you may want to use the following resources to help you through your research process.

Next, we will spend two class days in the computer lab where you can research. I highly recommend that you spend some time outside of class to work on this project.

At the end of this project you will tell me through some type of report:

  • what the people in Kenya are like
  • the population of Kenya and the US
  • what is diversity like in both countries
  • the food in Kenya and the US
  • the lieving conditions in Kenya and the Us

However you choose, you will present in front of the class and you will be graded by the rubric shown on the evaluation tab.
