Introduction
Introduction:
Global warming is a concern for all life on the planet Earth. Gradually over the past years our planet has become increasingly warmer. While that may sound good to some folks because they do not like cold weather, it is a concern. Even a minor change in the increase of the Earth's global temperature would be detrimental and will result in dramatic changes to our climate.
Task
Task: You have been traveling on a time capsule and have found yourself in the year 2030 which is only 15 short years from now! You find that the polar ice caps are melting at alarming rates, which is creating havoc to the Earth's Environment! Sea levels are rising, storms are much worse than ever before, and animals are dying due to loss of habitat! When you return to Earth you will create a shared presentation using Google Slides to alert all present day people of what they can do now to save our beautiful planet for future generations!
Process
_________________
Process: You and your team of scientists will be responsible for researching global warming and the effects it has on Earth's climate. Decide together with your group members who is going to assume the following tasks.
Scientist #1: You will research and report on the following information:
What is global warming and what are its causes?
Scientist #2: You will research and report on the following information:
What are the consequences (what will happen) of global warming for the future if nothing is done about it now?
Scientist # 3: You will research and report on the following information:
What can we do to solve this problem to make sure that global warming doesn't become a disaster for future generations?
Once your research is complete, you will create your presentation on Google Slides. This will be a shared document with your fellow scientists. You must be sure that you not only complete your section of the report, you are also be responsible for making sure that the finished shared presentation is well written and flows smoothly. So be sure to peer edit and work with each other to create a good quality presentation.
As you research your own area, let your partners know if you found any information that would be of value to them.
You are required to use at least 3 different sources for your information and be sure to record where you found your information from.
Your Google Slides presentation on global warming must meet the following criteria:
1. Title slide:
a. Title of presentation
b. Full names of all group members.
c. Core #
d. Date
2. Each student must have at least 3 slides to address their individual component of the project and must include the following:
a. Research topic
b. Information gathered during research
c. 3-6 pictures, images or clipart pertaining to your topic.
3. Closing Slide:
a. A works cited page is included that includes all websites used by all students in the group. This page must also include citation of images used in your presentation.
4. Group presentation:
a. The theme is consistent throughout the entire group presentation, meaning that it stays the same and does not change from slide to slide.
5. The text or font of the entire presentation is easy to read and not too large or small.
6. Work is free of spelling and grammar errors.
