Poetry Scavenger Hunt
Welcome:
This activity was designed to finish out our poetry unit. In this online scavenger hunt, you will be searching for specific facts about poems and poets as well as suing some of your won knowledge to answer questions. For this assignment, you will be using some things that you have already learned and combining that with knowledge with new concepts.
Task
Introduction:
As we have studied previously, you can find examples of poetry in many different kinds of writing. Poetry can be found in stories, song lyrics, and even news articles. For this activity, you are going to be a detective who will decipher some clues about famous poets and their poetry. As you work through this task, you will look up the information needed to solve the case. To finish your task, you will need to know the name of an excellent poet, titles to some of his/her poems, and what figurative language techniques are found in those poems.

As you read the poems use the graphic organizer to list all the above poetry terms that apply to each poem along with an explanation of why that term fits with the poem. Also, jot down two or three interesting pieces of information about each poet.

Step 3:
Select one of the poets above to do further research. Use the Internet to search for information and poems for the poet you select. Find at least four poems by your poet.
Using a presentation tool of your choice (PowerPoint, GoogleDocs, Prezi, etc.) create a presentation for the poet that you selected and include:
Biopgrphical information about your poet, including a photo and birth/death dates
- Some poems by your poet
- Your own exp;anation of what you think one of the poems means
- Write tow of your own orgianal poems to include in your presentation. These poems can be in the form of any TWO of the following:

Once you have completed your presentation, make sure that you send a copy to my email. We will be reviewing you presentations in class.
