Introduction
Ms. Woodard's 7th grader students will use this web quest to accomplish the following:
1.read and discover the difference between fables, myths, and legends
2. write an imaginative story
3. recieve feedback from the teacher to revise and edit their sotry
Students:
Make sure you are reading the directions. Everything will be turned in using Google Drive or Schoology.
Task
Please remember your punctucation, grammar, and spelling rules when completing the assignments. This includes the notes!
Day 1
The learner will read fables, myths, and legends, and be able to identify different elements of each.
Day 2
The learner will write an fable, myth, or legend.
Day 3
The learner will read the teacher's feedback and revise/edit the story for final publishing. The reader will complete an assessment over myths, fables, and legends on Schoology.
Extra Credit (Individual Assignment/No Groups)
The learner will complete an additional tasks that displays their story in a different form. ( Poet, Journalist, Cartoonist, Playwright)

Day 1
1. One person from your group must click on the following link.

2. Once you open the file using Google Docs, click file and make a copy. (Make sure that you exit out of the original file that you opened once you've made a copy.)
3.Share it with your partner, so that you can both work on it at the same time if you are both able to have a computer. (When you share with your partner, verify that you have shared so that they can edit.)

4. Visit the following links and explore the pages. Take notes over what you read on the LMF Notes Page.

5.When you have finished exploring the pages and filling in your notes, make sure both you and your partners name are at the top of the document. Share the document with me. dnwoodard@aldineisd.org
6. Go to Schoology and view the documents in the folder labeled myths, lengends, and fables. Read some of the stories and type one summary for each story you read. You can create a Google Doc to type the summaries. When you are done, import the summary to the assignment titled Summaries About Legend, Fables, and Myths in Schoology.
(If you want to read the stories together you may, but each person must submit this individually. You can use the folder provided in Schoology or you may browse the web for additional stories.)
Day 2

Today you will use two links to help you write a myth in Google Docs.
1. Open a new Google Doc and title it "Rough Draft Myth", then share it with me at dnwoodard@aldineisd.org so that I am able to comment, not edit. (DO THIS NOW! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE FINISHED.)
2. Click on the link below and navigate through steps 1-3. (Make sure you are reading the information on the pages; it will help you.)

*Your myth must be a minimum of 500 words. To check this, go to tools, and then word count.
Note: You will be graded on how well you follow directions, use correct punctuation, capitalization, and grammar. Show me that you know your commas rules! Use your journal as a reference. You will also be graded on showing, not telling! Don’t tell me what happens, use descriptive words to show me!

Day 3
1. Once you have finished typing your myth, go to the following link and make sure your story has all the elements of a myth as described on the page.

*Hint: Go back in your paper and see where you could possibly add more description by using figurative language.*
2. Now share your myth with two classmates so that they are able to comment, not edit. You must accept or deny the edits that people make.
*If a classmate shares their myth with you, please give them suggestions to make their paper better.
3. When you feel that you have an excellent final copy, submit it to Schoology in the Final Copy Myth Assignment.
4. Click on the link below and complete Step 4 to attempt to get your myth published on the site.
