Wild and Wonderful West Virginia

Introduction

Hello class! I am so excited to explore our wonderful state with you! We are going to be learning about different places to visit in West Virginia and what makes each place so special!

Task

For this assignment you will be researching a place in West Virginia that you would like to travel to and find out all the details about it. You will need to find pictures, the history behind it, what activities there are to do there, and any other facts that you find are interesting. You will then create a brochure for the place you have chosen that will have all of the information that you have found on it. 

Process

  • In order to complete the assignment you will need to use a search engine to find out facts about the town or area you have chosen. You can use any of the following: 

            Google

            Bing

            Yahoo

  • You need to include find the following things to include in your brochure

         - Name of the place

         -History behind it

         -Activities that are available there

         -Pictures of the area

         -Fun/Interesting facts about it

  • After you have researched, you will need to determine which pictures you would like to use, what facts you would like to include, and bring them to me for approval. 
  • Once I have approved that, you can begin working on your brochure. YOu may use the computer and use Microsoft Office to create the brochure, or you can make it by hand. You can use the computer to print out pictures and other materials as you need. If you choose to do the brochure by hand, all materials that you need will be located in the art section of the room. If there is anything else you need, you may ask me if I have it or bring it from home.

  • Finally, when you are finished you will turn in your brochure for me to grade.

Here is how you will be evaluated. Make sure that you follow the guidelines on this rubric to make sure you do not forget to include anything. This is will be a 100 point assignment.
