The Plains Indians: Land

This WebQuest is going to be going over the Plains Indian's land.

You will navigate your way through this WebQuest and will learn about where the Plains Indians lived, why they settled where they did, and the effects the climate of the region has on the Plains Indians.

Are you ready to learn about the land of the Plains Indians? I sure am!

Task: Your job is to research the various aspects of the lands of the Plains Indians.

You will go through the websites answering questions provided on the next page. The goal is for you to gain a deeper understanding of where the Plains Indians lived and why they settled there.

At the end of the classtime, we will share out our important information that we learned.

Here are the questions that you need to answer. Be ready to share your information out with the whole class.

1. What region of land did the Plains Indains inhabit?

2. What states did the Plains Indians inhabit in?

3. Why did the Plains Indians chose the land they chose?

4. The Plains Indians are described as being nomadic. Find a definition of the word nomadic.

5. What kinds of animals lived in the area that the Plains Indians lived?

After you find all of the information to the questions provided, I would like for you to answer the final questions.

1. Do you think that the climate of the region where the Plains Indians lived had an effect on the Plains Indians? Provide at least three key points to support your theory.

2. Do you think the Plains Indians location had an effect on the food that they ate? Provide at least two key points to support your theory.
