Introduction

Hi students!

Welcome to the online fieldwork.

You will be required to watch videos, the instructions with what to do will appear at the bottom of the video link.

You will also be looking at pictures, and complete activities that will require you to upload and download work.

This online fieldwork task will take you roughly four hours to compete.

Have fun and think geographically! 

Task
Process

Task 1.
In the video you were shown a sign. Find and upload a Topographical Map with.
(a) The position (latitude and longitude) of the place that the sign named and mark it on your Map.
(b) Name the River that it’s on, and mark it on your Map.
(c) Mark North, South, East and West on the Map.
(d) Find and mark the waterways that join together to become the Parramatta River.
(e) Mark the end of the Parramatta River on your Map.

Task 2.In the video there were a number of things shown that affect the Pollution levels of the River.

(a)    Make a list of the ones you saw. (b)    Write a short summary of how each affects the River.

Task 3.
Find and upload a Map of the Parramatta catchment area and describe what a catchment is.

Task 4.
Work out the Bearings from Parramatta city to the bridge in the video, can you work out which bridge it is?

Task 5.  On the Map below

(a)    Label as many Suburbs as you can.

(b)   Locate and mark Parramatta High School

(c)    Locate and mark the beginning of the Parramatta River.

(d)     Locate and mark the M4 Motorway
