Welcome!

This WebQuest is a simple activity that will help you collect some key information about your country.

This will help you do well in the Discussion test.

While you are working, enter the key information you find on your worksheet.

Task

The Task:  You need to research your country on the internet.

You will be finding out about:

Geography, Government, Economy, Language, Customs, Religion, Education etc.

You should be thinking about the specific national problems your country faces.

 

Every country has different problems.  Ask yourself:

  1. What problems does my country face?
  2. What are the causes of these problems?
  3. What are some possible solutions for these problems?
  4. Can science & technology help with these problems?  How?
Process

Step 1:

Find Basic Information About Your Country:

 

 

GDP; Population: Region/Geography: Major Imports/Exports/Industries; Energy Consumption; Flag Design + Interesting Facts

Fill out this information on your worksheet.

Step 2:

Research Your Unique National Problems:

 

Every country has unique problems, use this page to write down what you can find out about your national problems.

Think: What could be a possible solution to these problems?

You should look at at least 3 national problems.

Because every country is different, you need to use google to find this information.

Use Japanese if you like, but remember you need to talk about this in English during the discussion test.

Write down The Problem:  Include details, what exactly is the problem, use some statistics.

Write down Possible Solutions.  What needs to change/happen to fix this problem?

Finally, think, how can Science & Technology help?  Try to think of ways.

Look at the example (Japan) with your worksheet- this should help you.

Print out any webpages/articles you look at- these will help you in the future.
