Introduction
Grade 3: Science
Objective: Today we will be discovering the different states of matter of wall, and how these states transition into another.
Standard: Plan and conduct an investigation to describe and classify different kinds of materials by their observable properties.
Task
Task:
Students will learn the different states of matter by watching water change from its three different forms.
Process
Student Rsearch question:
What causes matter to change states, what are each of these states called, and what are each of the transitions themsevles called.
Evaluation
Overview:
Water changes from its solid form (ice), to its liquid form (water) though melting. The liquid water can become a gas (steam) if enough heat is applied.
Conclusion
Additional Questions:
Can states of matter change from a solid to a gas without becoming a liquid?
Which elements on the periodic table is a solid, liquid, or gas at room temperature.
