Introduction
Every person has a character that can be described in terms of behaviour: shy, determined, jealous, loyal, friendly, etc. And, according to our personality traits, we can do some things, but we can´t do some others. In general terms, we like this diversity. However, there are people we don´t like because of their characteristics; they make us suffer or do bad things to us or to the ones we love. Some other times, life puts bad things in our way, and when we don´t have the possibility to change them, we imagine we have superpowers to make the good beats the bad.
Literature and movies recreate our human world in which Good and Evil represent what´s good and what´s bad, the basic fundamental values that rule the history of mankind. So in this site we invite you to enjoy the characters of the movie Harry Potter and the deadly Hollows because in its fantastic world their characters show different personality traits and you will see how Good defeats Evil, not because of magic and spells, but because of the brave determination of its good characters.
Considering the fact that all the characters in this movie, either the good or the bad ones, can use magic to solve the different situations they face, Which characters in this movie best represent Good and Evil? What are their personality traits? What can they do when they cast a spell?
Task
All the characters in the movie are very well characterized. Some of them are brave, loyal and trustworthy, but some others are coward, selfish or bully.
After you practice the language about personality, and the different abilities of these wizards and witches, you will be able to create a poster that shows two antagonist characters from the movie, a good one and a bad one, describing what they are like and explaining what they can do with their magic wands.
Process
Feelings and emotions are very important in our life. Many people, specially teenagers, like to expess how they feel by using emoticons. As you can identify emoticons with feelings it will be easy for you to associate them to people´s personality and to their behaviour. So, to begin with, you will find a power point presentation with activities to practice personality traits, feelings, states and emotions. They are connected to the main characters of the movie so that you can identify them easily and learn how to describe people for your project. That´s Activity 1.
The power point also shows you a selection of spells so that you will learn what they can do with their magic wands. When you complete Activity 2, you will be able to complete the description of your characters by explaining their abilities using magic.
Evaluation
What´s your task?
Your task will be to create a poster representing the Battle between Good and Evil.
How will you make the poster?
Read the instructions carefully:
1. Form a group of three classmates.
2. Choose two antagonist characters from the movie Harry Potter and the Deadly Hollows.
3. Draw or print an image of the characters (there are a lot on the Internet).
4. Write the description of them: use 3 personality traits and 2 magic tricks they can do.
5. Arrange the images and the texts on a white or color cardboard paper.
6. Include the names of the group members, the class and the subject.
What will be considered in the assessment?
You will be graded on these aspects: Characters´description, Poster Design and Presentation.

Conclusion
A good description of the characters in books or movies that includes three or more personality traits, plus an understanding of what they can or can´t do, helps you understand the nature of the problem or theme of the story. It also helps you value the people around you, your family and friends. You can distinguish what´s good and what´s bad and the reason of their behavior.
The battle between good and evil is everywhere around us. The way we behave in life, the things we do, are related to the values we have learned at home or at school, like being honest, respectful to all people, responsible and caring, good friend and self-confident.
