Using Fractions to Change Recipe Serving Sizes!

Introduction

 

You are throwing a big dinner party for your family. You initially planned to cook a meal for 10 people but one of your friends called to tell you that she invited extra guests and there will possibly be beween 12 to 15 people coming instead of 10 people. 

You now have to adjust some of your recipes and serving sizes to accommodate the extra guests who may be coming to your dinner party.

Use your math skills and knowlege of fractions to convert your recipes to accomodate your new dinner party guest list.

 

Task

Task 1:

 Cornbread Stuffing

  1. Take a second glance at your Cornbread Stuffing recipe.
  2. Revise the recipe so that it can serve 12 people.

Task 3:

  1. Take a look at the recipe for your Macaroni Salad.
  2. Revise the fractions for this recipe so that it serves 15 people.
  3. Now re-write the directions to the recipe with the new numbers.

Task 4:

  1. Look at the recipe for your Salted Peanut Tiramisu.
  2. Revise the recipe so that it serves 12 people.
  3. Now revise the recipe so that it serves 15 people.
