Fishing for Nouns

Introduction

The sea has been filled various items and needs to be cleaned. The fisherman is trying to clean up the sea but he needs help deciding where to put the items according to nouns by classifying them as people, places, things, and animals. He has asked for our help to clean the sea and sort the nouns.

Task

Our job will be to look at the different items in the sea and place them where they should go according person, place, thing, or animal.

Process
  • You and your partner will pick ten items from the sea.
  • You will discuss and name the items with your partner.
  • You will complete the noun sort activity.
  • Be prepared to explain to the class why you put each item where you did
Evaluation

Students will be scored using a rubric. Each student will recieve a rubric before they begin the task.

Conclusion
  • Students will sort their findings on the chart.
  • Students will explain their placement for each item by explaining or telling how they know it is a person, place, thing, or animal.
