Introduction
Dinosaurs were very big creatures, who lived a long time ago. You are going to visit The Dino Directory, London´s Natural History Museum's online guide to dinosaurs with images, facts and figures for over 300 dinosaurs.
Task
You are going to describe a dinousaur you choose from the directory – its body, its food and its lifestyle. You can create a presentation file or a SmartNotebook file. You can use words was, were and had, because the dinosaurs do not live now anymore.
Process
1)
Check the scientific vocabulary you need when visiting The Dino Directory:
Carnivorous = meateater
Herbivorous = planteater
2)
Go through the National History Museum and look there:
Look at the 5 favourite dinousaurs in 3D
3)you can choose your dinousaur after a body shape here
or after its name here:
4) you can copy its picture and use some of the information you find here
5) you can also use some other pictures you can find on the internet
Evaluation
Excelent - you have a picture, body and food description of the dinosaur, you use was, were and had
Very good - some of the basic descriptions is missing
Good - you do not use complete sentences, only words
