Early Computers

Introduction

Racquel is an alien who has come to earth because her home in Mars has become over populated and as such they need to do a census.

She has heard that early computers were used in ancient days on earth and some were built specifically for census taking. 

She is very excited to learn more about these gadgets and is asking for your help.

Racquel only has 20 minutes to return to Mars.

So hurry!!!!!!!

Task

This is a top secret mission entrusted to you by the Queen to assist Racquel in acquiring knowledge on the early computers and their uses.

You are required to:

1.Identify at least four early computers2.State their uses.

As a team, your task will include:

1.To research the following early computers.

  • The abacus
  • The Pascaline Machine/Leibnitz
  • The Babbage Machines
  • The Hollerith Machine

 2.Discover the use of each early computer.

NB:Pay attention to detail and view the pictures of each computer so that you will be able to relate and describe your discoveries and thoughts to Racquel!!!!!!!

Conclusion

Early computers contains the computer systems made in the early era (i.e., the era in modern computer history defined as the period from the late 1930s to the early 1960s) utilizing mechanical, vacuum tube, discrete transistor, or other pre-integrated circuit technology.
